Question tags
Are grammatical elements that are placed at the end of a sentence in the form a short question and wose structure is in opposition to the previus sentence.
The main rules are :
• when the sentence is affirmative, the question is negative.
Example: he is an athlete, isn't he?
She is a good person, isn't she?
• When the sentences is negative, the question is affirmative.
Example: My backpack is not i'm the house, is it?
She doesn't her work, doesn't she?
We don't use the truck, do we?
* If there is an auxiliary verb in the statement, we use it to form the question tag.
Example: i don't use your phone, do i?
* Sometimes there is no auxiliary verb already in the statement. When the verb in the statement is present or and is positive, we use don't, doesn't ora didn't. Example : she did enjoy, didn't she?
* When the verb in the statement is tobe i'm the present or past we use to be to make question tag. Example: the car is in the parking lot, isn't it?
* When the verb in the statement is amodal verb we use the modal verb to make the question tag.
Example: they could to be artists, could'nt they?
* If the Main verb or auxiliary verb in the statement is AM, the positive question is AM i? But the negative question tag is usually aren'nt i?
Example: i'm not a good student, am i?
